These terms govern use of marriagematerial.online and every advertising order placed with Marriage Material (“we”, “us”), of 6 Pendle Close, Thornton-Cleveleys, Lancashire, FY5 3WB, United Kingdom. Contact: hello@marriagematerial.online.
1. Who these terms are for
Our advertising is sold only to businesses: companies, partnerships, and self-employed traders buying a placement for their own commercial services. Statutory consumer cooling-off rights do not apply. If you are buying as a private individual for personal use, do not place an order.
Venue partners receive planning guides under a separate venue agreement and do not pay for the guide itself.
2. What you are buying
An order is a fixed advertising placement in the Marriage Material print and digital planning guide for one named venue, in the size, term, and editions stated in the Advertiser Agreement. The term is twelve (12) months (two semi-annual editions) or twenty-four (24) months (four semi-annual editions).
Our obligation for each edition is complete when the printed copies for that edition are delivered to the venue address in the agreement. Digital placement for that edition goes live in the same cycle. How the venue displays the guides, how many guests take one, and how many enquiries you receive are outside our control and are not part of the order.
The price is a single fixed contract sum for the whole term. It is not a monthly subscription and it does not renew by itself.
3. How the order is made
We send a signing link. The Advertiser Agreement shows the venue, placement, term, fixed contract sum, currency, and payment option. When you sign, you are taken to a Marriage Material payment page in the same flow. The agreement is made when your signature is recorded and the first card payment succeeds.
4. Price and how you pay
The agreement states the currency and the fixed contract sum. The agreement shows one payment option: paid in full, a 50% deposit with the balance the following month, or a custom schedule. Each option pays the same fixed sum, except that pay-in-full may include a discount stated on the agreement.
Paid in full. You pay 100% of the (discounted) fixed contract sum on the payment page immediately after signing. That payment is a single customer-initiated card payment. We do not store the card for a later charge.
50% deposit, 50% the following month. You pay 50% of the fixed contract sum on the payment page immediately after signing. That first payment is a customer-initiated card payment. At the same time you authorise us to store your card credentials with our payment provider, Revolut, as a card-on-file token, and to take the remaining 50% as one merchant-initiated, off-session card payment on the date printed in the agreement. That date is one calendar month after signing and falls before the guides are released to print. The second amount is fixed: it is the unpaid half of the contract sum, in the same currency. That second charge is a single-instance balance completion for this agreement only. It is not a subscription, a continuous payment authority, or an open mandate. We will not use the stored card for any other amount, any later term, or any charge that is not printed in the agreement.
When a later charge is taken, we email a receipt to the address on the agreement. You may replace the stored card at any time before the last agreed charge, on the same payment page you used after signing. Replacing the card does not take a payment. From the due date of an agreed charge, including the day it falls due, you can also pay that charge yourself on that page. You can still write to hello@marriagematerial.online.
Custom schedules. Where the agreement sets out more than a deposit and one balance, each later amount and date is fixed in that schedule. The first payment is made by you on the payment page. Each later amount is taken on its stated date from the card on file, unless you pay it yourself from that due date or replace the card first. We will not charge any amount that is not printed in the agreement.
The payment page will show, before you pay: the merchant name Marriage Material; the agreement number; the amount due today; and, where later charges are agreed, each later amount and date, together with a statement that you authorise those charges. You cannot complete payment without accepting these terms, the Refund & Cancellation Policy, and that payment authority.
Card details are entered on Revolut’s payment fields. We do not see or store the full card number. Revolut processes the payment as our merchant acquirer. A payment that is declined does not start the agreement.
When it goes to print. Paid in full, and a 50% deposit with the balance due before print: nothing is sent to print, and the digital edition is not published, until the fixed contract sum has cleared. On a custom schedule, the first edition goes to print on the estimated print date if the payments due by then have cleared. If you fall behind, you are left out of the next reprint, and the rest of the contract sum is still owed.
5. Artwork and deemed approval
You will send print-ready artwork, or your logo, images, and wording, within seven (7) calendar days of the agreement starting.
If we receive materials, we design the advertisement and revise the layout until you approve it. If we receive nothing within those seven days, we may build a layout from publicly available material on your website or social profiles and send you a proof.
You have seven (7) calendar days from the proof being sent to approve it or to send specific changes and any files those changes need. If you do not respond in that window, the layout is deemed approved and final for that edition.
Deemed approval does not by itself release the edition to print. Whether that edition is printed is set out in section 4. After approval or deemed approval, that edition cannot be changed. A change requested after that point is held for the next edition.
6. Fulfilment, placement, and venues
We choose layout and position unless the agreement sells a named premium position. Placements are not exclusive unless a written exclusivity addendum says so.
If the venue changes owner, closes, or stops displaying the guide, we may move the remaining editions to a comparable venue in the same area, or supply the equivalent placement in the digital edition. That completes our duty for those editions.
We may refuse or remove an advertisement to protect the venue relationship. If we do, the Refund & Cancellation Policy sets what we repay.
7. Your content
You confirm you own, or have permission to use, everything you supply: names, logos, photographs, and wording. You will cover our losses, costs, and reasonable legal fees if a third party claims that material infringes their rights, provided we tell you promptly and let you control the defence.
8. Failed payments
You will keep the card valid until every agreed charge has been taken. If an agreed charge fails and is still unpaid 72 hours after the due time, we add an administration fee of USD 12.00.
The unpaid agreed instalment stays payable. Where the agreement requires the fixed contract sum to clear before print, print and digital publication remain on hold until it is paid, and any placement omitted because of that default is forfeited without reducing the contract sum. On a custom schedule, falling behind an agreed payment removes you from the next reprint cycle, in print and digital. That edition is forfeited. It is not refunded and it does not reduce the contract sum. A later edition in the term is included only if you are up to date when that edition is sent to print. The full contract sum remains payable, and we continue to charge the dates in the schedule and to recover anything still unpaid. We will not take any card payment other than the charges described in the agreement.
9. Cancellation and refunds
Cancellation and refunds follow the Refund & Cancellation Policy at https://marriagematerial.online/refund-policy, which forms part of these terms.
10. Liability
Our total liability arising out of one agreement is limited to the fees you have paid us under that agreement for the edition in which the error, omission, or delay occurred.
Neither party is liable for lost profits, lost bookings, or other indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that English law does not allow us to limit.
11. Entire agreement and law
The Advertiser Agreement, these terms, the Privacy Policy, and the Refund & Cancellation Policy are the whole agreement for an advertising order. These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
Specimen documents using these same payment terms are published for payment-provider review at /specimen/advertiser-agreement, /specimen/invoice, and a non-binding signing and payment demonstration at /specimen/sign then /specimen/pay. They are not live contracts.
